Born in al-Hermel in 1967. He is a Shiite Muslim. He finished his high school education at the AUB-affiliated International College - Beirut, and then obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Lille 2 University of Health and Law in France, and another from Lebanese University. He has been a member of the Lebanese Bar Association since 1990. He was first elected to parliament as Hezbollah’s representative from the District of Baalbek/al-Hermel in 1998, and again in 2004. In 2004, he was also appointed as the official in charge of the portfolio of lawyers in Hezbollah’s public relations division in the Beqaa area. He was again elected to parliament in 2005, and served as a member of the Technology Committee, Youth and Sports Committee, and the Committee of Administration and Justice (he remains on the latter committee). He was reelected in 2009, and has served on the Human Rights Committee and Displaced Persons Affairs Committee since then.
