Born in Baalbek in 1948. He is a Sunni Muslim, and the Islamic Labor Front’s representative in the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc. He obtained a degree in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University in Cairo in 1971. He then obtained a PhD in Islamic Studies from the Sorbonne in Paris in 1979. Since then, he has been a professor of Islamic and Umayyad Literature at Lebanese University. He was elected as Hezbollah’s representative for the Sunni seat in the District of Baalbek/Al-Hermel in 2005 and 2009. Between 2012 and 2013, he served on the parliamentary Finance Committee and Media Committee.
